A student's intellectual, social, physical, artistic and spiritual growth are core components of the St. Anne's Episcopal School curriculum. The development of a child's self confidence is crucial to positive growth; consequently, learning experiences are structured to foster a successful and productive journey through the grades. Although there are opportunities for students to share talents and demonstrate competence in a variety of situations, it is expected that students will master the objectives and skills outlined for each grade in each discipline. The goal is to provide a program of sufficient scope, sequence and flexibility with the understanding that children acquire information, process ideas and develop effective learning strategies in different ways and at varying stages of development. The ultimate objective is to maximize each student's learning capacity in order to achieve academic excellence.

Educational Features include:

  • Interdisciplinary, theme-based curriculum that is used to help children see connections between what they are learning and the real world.
  • Active learning by doing, that inspires growth in a wide variety of areas.
  • Opportunities for children to work in cooperative learning teams as well as independently.
  • Student participation in a variety of community outreach projects
  • A partnership of students, teachers, and parents working together to provide a safe and nurturing environment, which offers support in times of struggle and celebrates success.
  • Opportunities to gain perspectives of our global community throughout the curriculum.
  • Creative strategies to meet the varied academic and social needs of the students.
  • Educational use of the beautiful campus for lessons in ecology and responsible stewardship of the environment.
  • The basic beliefs of the Christian faith expressed in the teachings and traditions of the Episcopal Church.
