Why do parents choose St. Anne's Episcopal School?
- A dynamic, thoughtful guiding mission
The mission of St. Anne's Episcopal School is to prepare students for secondary education and lifelong learning. We strive to enhance the intellectual, spiritual, physical, social and artistic growth of our students so that they may realize their potential for good as citizens of local and world communities. These words guide us in our decisions and set a noble goal for all that we do.
- A challenging, engaging curriculum
The academic program is geared to prepare students for a rigorous high school experience. All St. Anne's students participate in art, music, computer, Spanish, religion, science, and PE in addition to their other academic subjects.
- Academic readiness for the next level
This year 64% of our students in grades 7 and 8 qualified for the Johns Hopkins Scholars Program based on ERB percentile scores of 95% or better on the Comprehensive Testing Program. Recent graduates report that they are very well-prepared for their secondary experience, and many go on to be placed in advanced high school classes and later to attend a range of selective colleges.*
- Small teacher/student ratio and class size
St. Anne's current enrollment is 305 students spread among the 10 grades. The overall student/teacher ratio is 6:1. Smaller classes allow for more individual attention, more differentiated instruction, closer relationships, and more opportunities for engagement.
- Commitment to diversity and active civic participation
We seek bright motivated students and families from diverse backgrounds. This year, more than $540,000 was given in financial aid awards to students of need. In addition, the importance of civic participation is evident in many facets of the program and numerous service learning projects.
- A spiritual component
At St. Anne's, we celebrate daily devotions in each classroom and weekly chapel services together as a community, either inside or outside on our beautiful 125 acre campus, with various speakers, prayer and song. Families of all faiths are welcomed and encouraged to share their beliefs in classroom or chapel settings.
