Welcome to St. Anne’s Episcopal Middle School!
When you come into our middle school you enter into an educational learning environment that is clearly student centered. The dedicated faculty, staff and administration understand the intellectual, social and emotional needs of children in grades 5-8, and they have chosen specifically to work with this wonderful age group.
Academically, students are actively engaged in the learning process through the study of language arts, math, science, social studies, and Spanish. In addition to these core areas of study, a St. Anne’s Middle School education includes instruction in art, music, religion, computers, library, health and physical education classes. We are proud to note that our graduates are well equipped to continue their education beyond St. Anne’s. Our alumni often come back to campus to thank their teachers for sending them off to high school so well prepared.
The co-curricular program supports the social-emotional needs of our students through the advisory program and homeroom devotions. Once each month the Middle School visits with their Lower School buddies for an activity period called Connections. During these visits the older students might read a story, do a craft, or play games with their younger buddies. Students have an opportunity to demonstrate stewardship and responsibility by participating in our jobs program, spending ten minutes of each day taking out the recycling, or helping a Lower School teacher in the classroom. In addition we have a competitive interscholastic athletic program for our older students.
When I came to St. Anne’s, I asked the students to tell me some of what makes this school special to them. These are a few of their comments: “the teachers and my friends make St. Anne’s special for me;” “the classes are small so I can get the help when I need it;” and “we really like the last period on Fridays when we get to do cool things like mountain biking, archery, fashion design, or making quesadillas;”
Every day our school offers opportunities to grow intellectually, spiritually and socially. To learn more about St. Anne’s, please come see for yourself. We would love to have you visit us.
Warm Regards,
Lora G. Byrd
Middle School Head
