Congratulations to 6th grader Zoey Honsel, who recently won the Middletown Lion's Club Peace Poster Contest. Zoey was one of several St. Anne's students who decided to submit a peace poster to the contest, which was judged by area artist Sara Jones, a graduate of the Delaware College of Art and Rhode Island School of Design.
Zoey provided these comments at the award dinner to explain her poster:
For the future of peace and the world, I believe that all the nations will work together in harmony and a perfect representation of this is puzzle pieces. They may be different shapes and different colors; by themselves, they may not look like much but when they work together they create a beautiful picture. They may not always fit together but in the end they find a way to work together. I put the puzzle pieces in a dove with an olive branch because that is a universal symbol of peace.
