Two 8th grade leaders, Caroline Bennett and Megan Disabella, who are leading the annual Lenten sock drive this year, offered the message at chapel on Thursday, 3/1 explaining why this service opportunity of giving new socks to those in need is so intimately tied to Lent. "Giving something up" for Lent can easily be heard as "lifting someone up" at Lent.
- The sock drive runs through March 7th.
- We hope to exceed last year's total of 718 socks!
This year, we hope that the PS-K will bring socks for children; that all female students in grades 1-8 will bring in socks for women; and that all gentlemen in grades 1-8 will bring in socks for men.
Two organizations to whom we are considering giving include The Sunday Breakfast Mission and/or Friendship House.
Thank you for your support! :)
