On Thursday, April 13th we will be observing the ancient service of Tenebrae, a Latin word meaning "darkness" or "shadows." The service begins in the dark with a large candelabra of 11 candles. As we recall ten important moments in Jesus' last hours, a candle is put out until just one is left. Then that candle leaves the room and the door slams shut when Jesus' death is told. But behold! The light of God never goes out and the candle comes back into the room to remind us of the resurrection. God's love can defeat even death and darkness. Ask your children about this powerful service, I am sure they will remember it and its important message!
Preschool - Kindergarten classes will meet at 8:15 AM in the music room and will only recall five important moments in Jesus' last hours. Grades 1-8 will meet at 2:30 PM in the gym. We hope you can join us.
